GH> If you've got a minute or so, I'd like to ask you a GH> question or two about the history of Fido and FidoNet. It's flatly not possible "in a minute or so". It's a long story. Some of it is written down in the FIDOHIST documents, but they only cover up to 86 or so. I dont have any story/history beyond that. It is a huge task. I think it's safe to sy, without the FidoNet USR would not be a larg company. FidoNet hjas pushed modem performance in the PC world, pretty much. The internet/uucp world is probqbly equiv, but is a completely different market (not dialup mostly). AT&T showed up at a FidoCon (I forget which year) because they noticed a "bump" in their long lines traffic during ZMH, and was curious wha it was all about. --- ReadMail
