 More Fido/FidoNet antiques. 

 Before ARC there was LU and SQ/USQ. LU (and its predecessor,
 LAR) is a program that packs multiple files into one "library"
 file; it does not compress. It's default filename extention
 is .LBR. I wrote a popular LU utility, hacking away from a
 terrible Unix source. It had many offshoots. I no longer have a
 copy of it or it's source. Drats. SQ/USQ are file squeezers/
 unsqueezers -- data compression. Instead of a fixed filename
 type, it replaced the middle character of the filename with 
 the letter 'Q'; ie. FIDO.EXE compressed with SQ was FIDO.EQE.
 USQ would uncompress it back to FIDO.EXE.

 (Thom Henderson's ARC was the first to both compress and
 archive -- look at all the trouble he started.)

 I do not know what the first Fido version available was. I
 know v1 was never released. I have no dox before version 8.
 I would greatly appreciate uploads -- or original Fido 
 Software-printed copies (color covers). Trade? Reimburse?

 If you have a Fido/FidoNet version 5 binary distribution
 to go with the sources, I'd appreciate an upload...
