How to make a picture transparent in PowerPoint

How can we make an inserted picture transparent? You may find it cannot be done by editing the picture. There is another method for you.
1. Click Insert > Shape> Rectangle to insert a rectangle of your desired picture’s size.
2. Double click the rectangle to pop-up a Object Formatting pane. Select Picture or texture to fill, and in the Picture Fill area, click the Select the picture button to select a desired picture. Then adjust its transparency in the lower region according to individual needs.
4. There is a solid line by default. If we want to remove it, click No line in the Line area.
