Problem Description: Duplicate Payment Charged Cc
Hello,
My account was charged twice for the MS365 Office subscription and I would like to cancel the Jan 12th order. On Jan 9th, 2026 I installed MS 365 on my laptop and after installing on my device, I was receiving a "Renew" message in my MS application (Word Excel, etc.). After doing a cold and warm boot to get my application to renew, I selected the register again to see if it would work and allow me access to my applications however it charged my cc again on Jan 12th.
Please refund me the $283.50 to my visa account as this was a charge in error on Jan 12th, 2026 and furthermore, it is a greater amount that I paid originally for the special offer I redeemed on Jan 9th, 2026.
Thank you for your attention to this concern. please do not hesitate to contact me atr

Quick Answer for License Quick Fix
Resolve duplicate credit card charges by directly contacting Microsoft Support through their dedicated assistance portal.
Likely Causes Behind Office Failure Patterns
The Microsoft account or license context may not match the purchase or device.
Cached credentials, outdated builds, or damaged local components can trigger license & subscription issues.
A file-specific corruption or add-in conflict can mimic a broader application failure.
Recommended Solution: Restoring Office After Errors
When to use this: Apply these steps when the symptoms match and you can access the relevant Microsoft account or administrator.
Navigate to the official Microsoft support contact page and enter either Billing Issue or Duplicate charge into the search field, then select Get Help.
Scroll down to the authentication section and sign in with your account credentials.
From the support category menu, choose Microsoft 365 and Office, followed by Billing and Payment Updates.
Confirm your selection to initiate a live chat session with a specialized billing representative.
Provide transaction details and receipt information during the conversation to facilitate a prompt investigation and potential refund processing for the erroneous charge.
Alternative Solutions for Fallback Options for License
Retry the Microsoft-side steps after restarting the app and device.
Test the same action in a private browser session or a new blank file to isolate account vs file issues.
Capture exact error text and screenshots before contacting Microsoft Support or your administrator.
Working with WPS Office: Editing Files in WPS During License

WPS Office cannot replace Microsoft account, activation, or cloud fixes for this scenario. It remains one of the best free Microsoft Office-compatible alternatives for opening and editing local files.
Download and install WPS Office from the official website.
Open local Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or PDF files in the matching WPS app.
Save a working copy locally while Microsoft-side issues are resolved.
Return to Microsoft Office after the primary fix succeeds.
If you need a practical local workspace in the meantime, try WPS Office.
Prevention Tips for Smooth Office Device Transfers
Keep one primary Microsoft account for subscriptions and Office sign-in.
Install updates for Office and Windows before retrying failed workflows.
Back up important files before repair, reset, or reinstall actions.
Register more than one MFA method and keep recovery contacts current.
