Problem Description: Unlock Account Stuck At

Is there anyone in Microsoft Team who can help me getting access to my Microsoft Business account that is being locked out since past one week. I've tried reaching out numerous time to support and the ticket number is **[Moderator note: personal info removed]**. Never got responses neither solution. Does anyone cares to help promptly. How are we suppose to run the business with support like this? The issue I'm having is I cannot log into my Microsoft account at all neither to the admin center. I'm stuck at the Authenticator app which does not give any code. I've recently change the phone and believe it could be because of that. Can anyone please give the solution to have this resolved as soon as possible. I've tried uninstall and install option. Not working. I've tried account recovery with code on email but not getting code on email. I've tried Account recovery with phone number which was successful but I'm getting failed to do the secondary verification either by email or authenticator app both as I'm not getting any codes anywhere in email nor in authenticator neither i see the verification code in Authenticator. Please reach me out on **[Moderator note: personal info removed]** for the same. We will be thankful and grateful for help having this resolve.![Screenshot 2026-01-05 113245](/api/attachments/62f5a122-c9a4-41bb-b03b-2f2a81fcfec5?platform=QnA)

Quick Answer for Office Setup on New Device

*As this forum is a public platform, I have moved your screenshot and ticket ID to a private message to safeguard your privacy.

Likely Causes Behind Login Root Factors

  • The Microsoft account or license context may not match the purchase or device.

  • Cached credentials, outdated builds, or damaged local components can trigger login & account issues.

  • A file-specific corruption or add-in conflict can mimic a broader application failure.

Recommended Solution: Fixing Login Step by Step

When to use this: Apply these steps when the symptoms match and you can access the relevant Microsoft account or administrator.

  1. To maintain the security of your information, please avoid the inclusion of personal details or screenshots with sensitive information in future posts.* --- Hi **[@Yatin Patel](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/users/na/?userid=d1f559b7-a146-46e0-9cce-1a46d00700aa),** Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

  2. I completely understand how challenging this situation must be, especially when you’re the admin responsible for your account.

  3. Restoring access requires working with the Data Protection team, as they are the only team authorized to perform MFA resets and administrator account recovery.

  4. This process ensures proper identity verification and compliance with security protocols.

  5. The team can only be reached through a support ticket, which guarantees secure handling of your case.

  6. Since you already have an active support ticket, please be assured that the case is in the system and is being handled by the appropriate team.

  7. The extended wait time typically means your request is still in the processing stage or awaiting the next step in the queue.

  8. The next step involves the Data Protection team conducting internal checks and gathering the necessary information.

Alternative Solutions for Secondary Login Fixes

  1. Retry the Microsoft-side steps after restarting the app and device.

  2. Test the same action in a private browser session or a new blank file to isolate account vs file issues.

  3. Capture exact error text and screenshots before contacting Microsoft Support or your administrator.

Working with WPS Office: WPS as a Local Alternative

WPS Office — free office suite for documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and PDFs.

WPS Office cannot replace Microsoft account, activation, or cloud fixes for this scenario. It remains one of the best free Microsoft Office-compatible alternatives for opening and editing local files.

  1. Download and install WPS Office from the official website.

  2. Open local Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or PDF files in the matching WPS app.

  3. Save a working copy locally while Microsoft-side issues are resolved.

  4. Return to Microsoft Office after the primary fix succeeds.

If you need a practical local workspace in the meantime, try WPS Office.

Prevention Tips for Keeping Office Stable Long Term

  • Keep one primary Microsoft account for subscriptions and Office sign-in.

  • Install updates for Office and Windows before retrying failed workflows.

  • Back up important files before repair, reset, or reinstall actions.

  • Register more than one MFA method and keep recovery contacts current.

FAQs About Office Support Questions

Can WPS Office fix this login & account issues issue directly? Only when the WPS steps match the formatting or file task. Account, activation, and cloud issues stay on the Microsoft side.

Should I reinstall Office before trying these steps? Not first. Confirm account, license, and the exact error before reinstalling.

What should I send to Microsoft Support? The affected account email, device type, Office version, exact error text, and screenshots with personal data hidden.
