This guide walks you through login & account issues using Microsoft-supported steps first, with WPS only where it genuinely helps.
Problem Description: Sharepoint Online Emails Showing
In 2023 I created a form and included the academic year in the name, but when the next year came round I realised it was easier to continue using the same form, so I renamed it to remove the year and updated some of the questions. Then recently I started receiving emails from SharePoint Online whenever someone uploads a file to this form, even though it is saved to an MS Team area (I may have created it in my own account and shared/moved it at a later date, though I'm not 100% sure). While I don't mind receiving these emails, they have caused some confusion as they show the form's original name and question, even though when I click on 'See new files', it takes me to the correctly named folder: I have checked all the properties I can find for the folders above, and I can find no mention of the original form/folder names, so I don't know where the notification emails are getting the original names from. Is there any way of getting the SharePoint Online notification emails to show the current form and folder names, rather than the original ones I used 3 years ago? EDIT: The original form had 2 questions requesting file uploads, but after updating the form name, 2 more were added. I get a separate email for each individual file uploaded, and I've just realised that the emails for the 2 original questions show the old form name, while emails for the 2 new questions show the new name. I assume this indicates the issue lies with the form itself, and perhaps the original form name/question is stored as some kind of back-end ID that's not updated when you change the question?

Quick Answer for Login Quick Fix
Hello [@Eddy Hurst](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/users/na/?userid=47e5c4cf-30c2-441f-980f-55311617ea5e), Thank you for providing such detailed information about the issue.
Likely Causes Behind Office Failure Patterns
The Microsoft account or license context may not match the purchase or device.
Cached credentials, outdated builds, or damaged local components can trigger login & account issues.
A file-specific corruption or add-in conflict can mimic a broader application failure.
Recommended Solution: Transferring Office License Safely
When to use this: Apply these steps when the symptoms match and you can access the relevant Microsoft account or administrator.
I have tested this scenario on my side and observed the same behavior you described.
At this point, I have not found any official Microsoft documentation confirming whether this is considered an issue or expected behavior.
To move forward, I would like to clarify your role in the organization: If you are a Global Admin, I strongly recommend opening a support ticket through the "*Help & Support"* section in the [Microsoft 365 Admin Center](https://admin.microsoft.com/AdminPortal/Home?#/homepage). This will allow the case to reach a Microsoft Support Engineer who has the necessary tools and permissions to investigate and provide a resolution.
Additionally, please report this behavior under "Service Health" in the Admin Center so it can be tracked by Microsoft. If you are an *end user*, you can ask your organization’s IT administrator to perform these steps on your behalf.
They will have the required access to raise the ticket properly. *Please note that I am a forum moderator, so I do not have the permissions or tools to make* *directly* *changes.
However, I will do my best to assist you within my capacity.* If you encounter any difficulties reaching Microsoft Support or creating a ticket, please let me know, I’ll be happy to help further where possible.
Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to your update.

Alternative Solutions for Fallback Options for Login
Retry the Microsoft-side steps after restarting the app and device.
Test the same action in a private browser session or a new blank file to isolate account vs file issues.
Capture exact error text and screenshots before contacting Microsoft Support or your administrator.
Working with WPS Office: Editing Files in WPS During Login

WPS Office cannot replace Microsoft account, activation, or cloud fixes for this scenario. It remains one of the best free Microsoft Office-compatible alternatives for opening and editing local files.
Download and install WPS Office from the official website.
Open local Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or PDF files in the matching WPS app.
Save a working copy locally while Microsoft-side issues are resolved.
Return to Microsoft Office after the primary fix succeeds.
If you need a practical local workspace in the meantime, try WPS Office.
Prevention Tips for Smooth Office Device Transfers
Keep one primary Microsoft account for subscriptions and Office sign-in.
Install updates for Office and Windows before retrying failed workflows.
Back up important files before repair, reset, or reinstall actions.
Register more than one MFA method and keep recovery contacts current.
FAQs About Login Help Topics
Can WPS Office fix this login & account issues issue directly? Only when the WPS steps match the formatting or file task. Account, activation, and cloud issues stay on the Microsoft side.
Should I reinstall Office before trying these steps? Not first. Confirm account, license, and the exact error before reinstalling.
What should I send to Microsoft Support? The affected account email, device type, Office version, exact error text, and screenshots with personal data hidden.
