Problem Description: Why Word Mac Now

If I open a Word document (.docx) and close it, Word correctly just closes the file without prompting. However, if I scroll to the end of multiple page document and close the file without making any changes, Word incorrectly thinks I made a change to the file and, therefore, prompts if I want to save the changes. Word Version 16.105 (26011018). Mac OS version 26.2 (Tahoe). Others on this forum have said disabling Copilot solved the problem for them, but this does not work for me. There is no copilot icon in Word->Preferences. Instead, I selected Privacy in the Word Preferences and unchecked the box for "Turn on optional connected experiences," I rebooted the Mac. Notably there is still a Copilot icon on the Ribbon. If I try to customize the ribbon, there is no Copilot option listed to remove.
