Excel's Insert Hyperlink dialogue box can be used to link to an existing file, a website, or a specific location within this document. Use the HYPERLINK feature as well.

How to insert hyperlink in excel online, 2016 and 2019

  1. Launch an Excel file. To add a hyperlink, double-click the Excel document you wish to use.

  1. Choose a cell. You want to enter your hyperlink into this field, which should be one.

  1. Click on the link. The Links portion of the Insert toolbar, on the right side. This creates a window.

  1. Click on create new document.

  2. Enter the text for the link. In the Text to show section, enter the text you wish to see on screen.

  1. Type this and press ok.

 

Linking to an existing file in excel

  1. Launch an Excel file. To add a hyperlink, double-click the Excel document you wish to use.

  1. Choose a cell. You want to enter your hyperlink into this field, which should be one.

  1. Click on existing file on left side of the bar.

  1. Enter the text for the link. In the Text to show section, enter the text you wish to see on screen.

 

  1. Click on the following tabs and select a destination:

  • Search for files in your Documents or Desktop folder using the current folder option.

  • Browsed Pages: Look up recently visited websites.

  • Browse recently opened Excel files using the recent files feature.

  1. Choose a document or website. To link to a particular file, folder, or website, click the desired location. The Address text box at the bottom of the window will display the folder's path.

  1. Press on ok.

Linking within the document in excel

  1. Launch an Excel file. To add a hyperlink, double-click the Excel document you wish to use.

  1. Choose a cell. You want to enter your hyperlink into this field, which should be one.

  1. Click on place within the document on left side of the bar.

  1. Enter the text for the link. In the Text to show section, enter the text you wish to see on screen.

  1. Click on ok.
