We can use conditional formatting to mark specific contentsquickly according to a certain rule.
In this tutorial, we are going to talk aboutTop/Bottom Rules. There are multiple rules for selection, namely, Top 10 Items, Top 10%, Bottom 10 Items, Bottom 10%, Above Average and Below Average.
We take Above Average as an example.
Here is a sales table of different branches. Now we want to highlight the data that is above average. Here are the steps.
Open your Excel document, and click the Conditional Formatting drop-down button in the Home tab to get a menu.
1. Select the cell range for which you want to set rules. Click Top/Bottom Rules and select one of the rules here. Here we select Above Average.
2. In the pop-up dialog, select the format for the cells that are above average from the drop-down list. If we need more formats, click Custom format and set it as needed.
3. If we need more rules, click More Rules to customize by ourselves. In the pop-up dialog, we can set more details for it.
Select a Rule Type first, and then Edit the Rule Description. Here we show it briefly.
