Finding the length of a period of time is fairly easy to do in excel. You can just add some dates onto your spreadsheet and you'll have your answer right there. However, counting months between dates isn't quite as simple. There's no easy way to enter in two dates and get back out an accurate amount of months between them. Time is a tricky thing to count in Excel because it's not just one number. The amount of time between two dates can vary based on how far apart those dates are, how many days/weeks/months there are in between them, and what month or season it is when you're calculating the gap. In order to calculate the correct amount of months between two dates, you need to take all these factors into account first before running any formulas or calculations on them. This tutorial shows how you can easily count months between dates in excel using formulas.
