**Adding numbers in excel online, 2016 and 2019**

1. You may use a fairly straightforward formula to add numbers in a single cell.

3. You may add as many numbers as you like by first entering an equal sign, followed by a number, and then a plus sign.

4. Click on enter to see the results.

**Adding cells in excel**

1. Restart with the formula if you wish to add cells. Pick the cell where you wish to see the results to get started.

2. Type the equal sign.

3. Click on the cell that you want to add.

4. You can add as many cells as you like by typing the + symbol and then clicking on another cell.

5. Press on enter.

The formula reads =SUM(C2:C14), where C2 is the first cell in the column and C14 is the last cell, as seen in the screenshot. After entering the final cell reference, pressing Enter, and viewing the results, there is no need to close the parentheses or type the formula in upper case.
