How to fill cells with pure colors, gradient colors, and patterns

When using WPS Spreadsheet to write a statistical data report, we may want to emphasize the cell data. To do this, we can fill the cell with background color and pattern.

Take this table as an example.

1. If we want to fill the B3:G3 cell with color, select this area first.

2. Click the Home tab above.

3. Then click Settings.

4. And finally click Cells. Or we can use the shortcut key Ctrl+1 to open the Formats Cells dialog box.01.gif

· Pure color

Click Patterns, then we can choose a pure color to fill the cell in the Background color area. If there is no color we want, we can click More colors. Here, WPS Office has provided us with multiple color choices. After selecting, click OK. Now the cell is filled with pure color.02.gif

· Gradient effect

In addition, we can also add a gradient effect to a cell selection.

1. Open the Format Cells dialog box and click Fill Effects. In this dialog box, we can set the gradient colors color 1 and color 2.

2. After determining the color, we can set the Shading styles and Variant of the gradient fill.

3. In the Sample area at the lower right corner, we can preview the gradient effect.

4. Finally, click OK.03.gif

· Patterns

1. If we want to fill the cells B4:B15 with patterns.

2. Select this area and use the shortcut key Ctrl+1 to open the Formats Cells dialog box.

3. Then select a needed pattern in Pattern style, and then select Pattern color.

4. We can also preview the filling effect in the Sample area.

5. Finally, click OK to complete the pattern filling of the selected area.04.gif

What a practical feature! Did you get it?
