How to make a simple infographic about the 2022 winter Olympic in WPS Office PowerPoint

What is WPS Office?

WPS Office is the best alternative to Microsoft 365. You can use it to create, edit and share Word, PPT, Excel and PDF.

Also, WPS Office is the official office collaboration software supplier of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022.

Example to make an infographic in WPS Presentation:

Let's look at the preview picture. 

To achieve this, let's follow the steps listed as followed.

Preparatory work 

1. Comb through and gather information.

You can go to the official website to improve the relevance and accuracy. The sources of your information should be listed at the bottom of your infographic.

2. Consider your infographic structure.

Including the title, subtitles, texts and sources, it is wiser to write them down in a word document beforehand.

3. Consider your visual elements. 

Choose suitable pictures, icons and formats to ensure readability, and you can put them in a folder in advance.

Start to create! 

1. Adjust the size of your infographic. 

The size depends on the amount of information you want to convey. Go to the Design tab > Slide Size > Custom Size, click Custom at Slide Size, and then you can customize the size. Here, we enter 20 at Width and 45 at Height.

Then click OK > Ensure Fit.

2. Add rulers and gridlines. 

Go to View to check Ruler and View Gridlines to improve the precision of the layout.

3. Specific steps: 

Let’s separate the steps of this infographic into five parts: title, experience and venue, sports events, medal and sources.

Part1:  Create a nice titile. 

Here are some specific settings:

The background of the title:Insert > Shapes > Rectangle >  Shape Fill >  Gradient Fill > Red.

Title: Font: Arial Black; Size: 28.8; Bold, White.

Subtitle: Font: Arial Black; Size: 25.2; Bold, Black. This applies to the subsequent subtitles.

Ski Resort: Insert a line shape: Line;Color: Red; Width:3.5pt. You can set them in the task window on the right of the interface.

As for the two paragraphs under the red line, you can insert a text box in the Insert tab and copy the words.

Part2:The Experience and Venue of Beijing 2022 Olympics 

For the left part, few tricks are needed. Just arrange the pictures and description text in order, and you can refer to the ruler! Remember? We've set that in step 2.

A smart move is required in the right part if the paragraphs are expected to be lined up properly.

Then, you can change its color and format as you like in the WPSArt Design and Format tab.

Part3:The sports events of Beijing 2022 Olympics

If you have mastered the previous skills in making the WPSArt Design, this part will be no problem for you. In this case, we choose the Bending Picture Block. You can click the picture icon to insert pictures from your album or files.

Changing color and format is also avaliable.

You can also add more shapes to enrich your content. Click the first floating button on the right of any picture.

Part 4: The ranking table of the medal

Medal is an indispensable part of the Winter Olympics.

Click the Insert tab > Table > Insert table, where you can customize the number of columns and rows of your table.

To change its color and format, go to Table Style, where you can set the shading, effects, border and other effects.

Then you can add contents to this table.

Part5: The sources of this infographic.

Here we come to the final part. Don't forget to add sources to improve the reliability of your infographic. The method is as easy as the title part, that is, Insert > Shapes > Rectangle >  Shape Fill >  Gradient Fill > Red. You can even copy and paste the shape of the title background here.

Then all you need to do is copy and paste the sources here and have a look at what you’ve done!
