Project managers working on small- to mid-sized projects frequently use WPS Excel as a straightforward project management tool to aid in the visualization, planning, and monitoring of progress.

With the aid of spreadsheets that have columns for each task's list, owner, and start and end dates, project managers may plan each task using Excel. Spreadsheets are used extensively by most organizations, among other things, to record revenue, expenses, and overhead costs—basically, everything a firm does to manage its own budget.

How to make a Gantt chart in excel:

A horizontal bar chart called a Gantt chart is employed in project management. It offers an Excel graphical depiction of the project schedule that makes it easier to set and monitor deadlines and keep track of the resources needed to complete the project.

Follow these following steps to create a Gantt chart:

1.Make a project table.Each task is listed separately, along with its start date and duration (number of days required to complete that task).

2.Create a bar chart in Excel.Choose B1 through B11 as the start date range.Select the group for bar charts under the Insert tab by clicking.Then choose a stacked bar from the set of 2-D Bar charts.

3.Thus, we will have the bar graph that is displayed.

4.Charting the addition of a tenure.On the chart, right-click anywhere.Choose Select Data from the drop-down menu.

5.A popup titled Select Data Source will appear.The entries contain the start date already.To enter the tenure, click the Add button.

6.Change the Series name to TenureThen select range selection from the menu.

7.Then choose the Tenure from C2's first cell.Drag each of the pertinent cells.

8.Select OK from the dialogue box.This bar graph appears on the screen.

9.Gantt chart task description addition.The Select Data Source dialogue box should be opened.Select Edit from the menu as shown in the illustration.

10.The jobs on the left side of the Gantt chart are now visible.

How to change from bar graph to Gantt chart in excel:Select Format Data Series by clicking on the bars.

1.In the Format Data Series dialogue box, choose No Fill.

2.Based on the information we provided, the Gantt chart is visible.

3.Click on task panel.From the Format Axis dialogue box, choose Categories in reverse order.

4.We now have this Gantt chart with the tasks in the proper sequence.

5.The dates we entered are from 01-Jan, however the dates in the Gantt chart are from 11-Dec.The first date in any box, copied.

6.Next, click the copied date and choose the corresponding dialogue box from the Home option.

7.Pick Number from the drop-down menu.

8.In the selected box, we can now see a number shown.

9.The Format Axis dialogue box appears when you click on the dates on the Gantt chart at this point.We'll enter the figure from the previous slide in this area marked Minimum.

10.The last Gantt chart we see looks like this:
