How to use formula in excel

Excel is the most widely used and popular software for calculating basic tasks and also used for business related complicated functions. But if you are the type of person who wants to calculate basic formulas in excel but wondering how to use formula in excel? This is the article for you.
Though there are many complicated functions performed by this software but here you will know how to use formula in excel to perform basic functions in detailed steps. So let’s get started.
Formula to calculate addition
1. Open the document you wish to calculate addition. This example here shows the sales done in previous and this month and now it is required to find out the total sales.
2. Click in the cell H8 to perform addition between last and this month’s sales for shoes and find the gross sales.
3. Now press “equals” sign and click cell F8 to select last month sales of shoes.
4. Now type “+” sign to perform addition.
5. Click cell G8 for this month sales of shoes.
6. Finally, press Enter key. You got your total sales for shoes for current and previous month.
7. Now click the cell and bring your cursor to the bottom right of the handle, notice the cursor changes to plus sign.
8. Now press and hold left mouse button and drag, the total sales of all items are calculated.
Formula to calculate subtraction
1. Open the document you wish to calculate subtraction. This example here shows the total sales of mouse, laptops, LCDs, and keyboards. The data for last month and total sales are known. It is required to find this month’s sales. It can be done using subrtact formula.
2. Click in the cell H8 to perform subtraction between last and total sales for laptops to find this month’s sales.
3. Now press “equals” sign and click cell F8 to select total sales.
4. Now type “-” sign to perform subtraction.
5. Click cell G8 for last month sales of laptops.
6. Finally, press Enter key. You got this month’s sales.
7. Now click the cell and bring your cursor to the bottom right of the handle, notice the cursor changes to plus sign.
8. Now press and hold left mouse button and drag, sales of this month of all items are calculated.
Formula to calculate multiplication
1. Open the document you wish to calculate multiplication. This example shows items qty placed in one shop and number of shops. It is required to calculate how many items are there in total number of shops. This can be done using multiplication.
2. Click in the cell H8 to perform multiplication between qty in one shop and total number of shops to find total laptops in all shops.
3. Now press “equals” sign and click cell F8 to select laptop qty in 1 shop.
4. Now type “ * ” sign to perform multiplication.
5. Click cell G8 for total number of shops.
6. Finally, press Enter key. You got the answer how many laptops are in 5 shops.
7. Now click the cell and bring your cursor to the bottom right of the handle, notice the cursor changes to plus sign.
8. Now press and hold left mouse button and drag, the total qty of all items are calculated.
Formula to calculate division
1. Open the document you wish to calculate division. This example is similar to the multiplication but very easy to understand. The example has total items and total number of shops and it is required to calculate total number of items in one shop. This can be done using division.
2. Click in the cell H8 to perform division between total items and total number of shops to find qty of laptops in one shop.
3. Now press “equals” sign and click cell F8 to select total items.
4. Now type “ / ” sign to perform division.
5. Click cell G8 for number of shops.
6. Finally, press Enter key. Here is the answer to how many laptops are there in one shop.
7. Now click the cell and bring your cursor to the bottom right of the handle, notice the cursor changes to plus sign.
8. Now press and hold left mouse button and drag, the total qty of all items in one shop are calculated.
