To sum cells depending on integers that fulfil specified criteria, use Excel's SUMIF function.

Values in the range A1:A5 that are less than or equal to 10 are added together using the SUMIF function (two arguments) below.

The SUMIF function that follows yields the same outcome. The less than or equal to sign and the value in cell C1 are joined by the & operator.

If the matching cells in the range A1:A5 contain the value 25, the SUMIF function below (three parameters, last argument is the range to sum) sums the values in the range B1:B5.

The SUMIF function that follows yields the same outcome (second argument refers to cell D1).

Text criteria in excel:To sum cells based on text strings that fulfil particular requirements, use Excel's SUMIF function. Text should always be encased in double quotation marks.If the corresponding cells in the range A1:A5 contain exactly circle, the SUMIF function below adds the values in the range B1:B5.

If the associated cells in the range A1:A5 do not comprise an exact triangle, the SUMIF function below sums the values in the range B1:B5.

If the matching cells in the range A1:A5 contain exactly circle + 1 character, the SUMIF function below adds the values in the range B1:B5. A question mark (?) corresponds to one single character.

If the matching cells in the range A1:A5 contain a series of zero or more characters + le, the SUMIF function below adds the values in the range B1:B5. A series of zero or more characters is indicated by an asterisk (*).

If the matching cells in the range A1:A5 contain exactly triangles or circles8, the SUMIF methods below will sum the values in the range B1:B5.

Date criteria in excel:To sum cells depending on dates that fulfil specified criteria, use Excel's SUMIF function.The sales after January 20, 2018, are totaled using the SUMIF method below.
