In theory, inserting page breaks in word informs the printer where to end the current page and then create new one. If you want to learn about page breaks, this is the tutorial for you. Using Insert tab

1.Open an exisitng document to insert page break. A three page word document is used as an example.

2.Now place your cursor anywhere in the document where you want to end the content and start a new page and click once. You will notice cursor blinking at the location

3.Bring your mouse to Insert tab and click it. You will see the avaiable options in a ribbon arrangement under Insert tab

4.Now go to Break option and click it.

5.The page break is inserted and the content that is after the blinking cursor is shifted to the a new page. Notice 2nd and 3rd page content are shifted further.

Using Page Layout

1.Open any document to insert page break. This example uses a 3 page word document.

2.Now move your cursor to desired location and click once where you wish to insert page break. Notice that the cursor is blinking there.Head on to the Page Layout tab and click once. All the available options under this tab will be opened.

3.Now click on Breaks options. A pop-up window appears.

4.Now click on Page break to insert the page break.

5.The page break is inserted and the content after the cursor is shifted to a new page.

Insert page break in view of column layout

1.This page break is handy to write content in column design. In the column layout, typicaly the text is automatically shifted to next column. But you can also customize the column page break using this feature.

2.Open any of you existing document

3.Go to Page Layout tab and click it

4.Then head to Column option, click it. A drop down menu appears

5.Select Two, which means having 2 columns on one page.

6.You will notice the text on the text on the document shifts to the next column within same page.

7.Now bring your cursor at the location you wish to insert page break in column style and click it. You will see the cursor blinking there.

8.Now click on the Breaks option in the Page Layout tab, a drop-down menu appears.

9.Now click on Column Break.

10.The content after the blinking cursor is now moved to the next column of same page
