lSteps to delete a blank page in WPS Writer Word

Blank pages are mainly caused by breaks, such as line breaks, section breaks and page breaks.

In order to delete the blank pages, we can show the paragraph marks to know why these blank pages were generated.

Head to the Home tab. Click the Show/Hide Editing Mark icon and check Show/Hide Paragraph Marks.

Then you can see that in this example, the blank page is caused by improper line breaks and page breaks.

There are four methods to delete the breaks.

Option 1: Delete the breaks manually

Delete all the breaks in the blank pages by pressing Backspace on the keyboard. Then the blank pages are deleted.

Option 2: Delete the breaks in batches

This method can be used to delete the blank pages caused by line breaks.

Click the Home tab > Word Typesetting > Delete > Delete Blank Paragraph. Then the blank page is deleted.

Note that this method will delete all the line breaks in the article, so you can use it according to actual needs.

Option 3: Delete the breaks with the Find and Replace function

Alternatively, we can delete the blank pages caused by page breaks or section breaks with the Find and Replace function.

For example, since we have checked Show/Hide Paragraph Marks function. We can see the blank page is caused by page breaks.

1. Go to the Home tab, and click the Find and Replace drop-down button. And select the Replace button to pop up the dialog, whose shortcut isCtrl+H.

2. Click Find what and then the Special drop-down button. Select Manual Page Break, and you don't need to enter anything at Replace with. Click Replace all to pop up the dialog and click OK.

Thus, all blank pages caused by page breaks are deleted.

Likewise, if the blank pages are caused by Next Page Section Break, you can follow the same steps, except that you need to select Section Break in the Special drop-down button.

Option 4: Adjust the line spacing and margin

Take this document as an example. There is a table, and a blank page below it, which cannot be deleted by pressing Backspace key. This is because the space below the table is too little to hold the paragraph marks.

At this time, you can follow the steps below to delete the blank page.

1. To narrow the line spacing.

Go to the Home tab, click the Line Spacing drop-down button, and select More to pop up the dialog. In the Spacing ribbon, click the Line Spacing button, and select Exactly to decrease the parameters, for example, to 0.7.

2. To narrow the page margin

Navigate to the Page Layout tab, click the Margins drop-down button, and select the built-in Narrow effect.

Alternatively, click Custom Margins to pop up the dialog and customize the margin settings, and decrease the parameter of Bottom.
