3. Choose PDF to Image and set the page range. Export the pages you need rather than the whole file when a document runs to dozens of pages. Pick PNG when the format list offers it; if your build exports JPG only, use the online route below for that single page.

4. Set the output quality. Higher resolution keeps small type and thin chart lines readable, at the cost of a larger file. Export one test page first, open it at 100% zoom, then convert the rest with the same settings.

5. Save the results and check them. WPS PDF writes one image file per page into the folder you choose. Open a page that contains small text before you send the files on.

How to convert PDF to PNG online free

A browser converter is enough for a page you need once, especially on a computer you do not own. Check the output format before you upload, because PNG support is far less universal than JPG.

1. Pick a converter that lists PNG in its format menu. Many free tools only produce JPG. WPS PDF Tools runs a free online converter at pdf.wps.com/convert-pdf-to-jpg when a smaller JPG is acceptable.

2. Upload the file and set the page range. Most services convert every page by default, which is rarely what you want for a 40-page report.

3. Choose PNG and the resolution. Look for output settings rather than accepting the default, and set a resolution high enough for the text you need to read.

4. Convert and download the images. Multi-page jobs usually arrive as a ZIP archive with one image per page, named after the original file and the page number.

• 600 DPI for fine line work. Use it for signatures, stamps, engineering drawings, and small type you may need to read at high zoom, then crop the result rather than exporting the whole page.

• Keep transparency when the page has none. A PDF page is opaque, so a transparent PNG only creates problems in viewers that render white as black.

• Watch the file size. A single 300 DPI page can pass 5 MB, which is why multi-page exports should stay in a ZIP archive rather than a message.

Fix blurry or blank PNG files after converting a PDF

Most failed conversions have a straightforward cause, and each one has a quick fix.

• The PNG is blank or nearly white. The page is a scan or the text sits on a transparent layer. Run OCR on the file or export the page again at a higher resolution.

• The text is soft when you zoom in. The export resolution was too low. Re-export the page at 300 DPI or higher instead of enlarging the PNG you already have.

• Only the first page came back. The converter dropped the page range or hit a free-tier page cap. Convert the remaining pages in a second batch.

• The image is enormous. 600 DPI on a full page produces a very large file. Crop the PNG to the area you need, or export the page as JPG when lossless edges are not essential.

• Thin lines disappeared. Aggressive compression flattened the page detail. Use PNG output for charts, signatures, and stamps rather than a JPG that has been re-compressed.
