Fix Microsoft 365 Sign-In Error 0x80048823 (Compromised Account)

Open your browser and go to the official Microsoft account recovery page (account.live.com/acsr).

Input the email address, phone number, or Skype name associated with your compromised Microsoft 365 account.

Enter a different, secure email address where Microsoft support can reach you regarding your recovery request.

Answer the security questions as accurately as possible, including recent email subjects or billing information, and submit the form.

Go to account.microsoft.com in a private or incognito browser window.

Enter your credentials. If you are automatically logged in or have a secondary verification method (like a phone number) that still works, select it to authenticate.

Click on the 'Security' tab at the top of the dashboard, then select 'Advanced security options'.

Locate the unfamiliar email address under the 'Ways to prove who you are' section and click 'Remove'. Add a new, secure email or phone number.

Navigate to the Microsoft Support Contact Us page without signing in.

Choose the option for Microsoft 365, then select 'Billing and Subscription' issues.

Opt for 'Chat with a support agent' or request a callback. Provide your credit card statement or purchase invoice to verify you are the legitimate subscriber.
