How to Export a One-Hour Video as Separate Clips in Clipchamp
Question details
The user needs to export a single one-hour video project as several individual 10-minute files.

- Product
- Clipchamp
- Device & OS
- not provided
- Scenario
- Splitting and exporting a long video into multiple shorter, separate files.
- Observed behavior
- Clipchamp combines all clips on the timeline into a single file during export instead of saving them as separate individual videos.
Ensure your project is saved and that you have clearly split your timeline at the exact 10-minute marks before beginning the export process.
Export Segments Individually Using the Delete and Undo Method
Since Clipchamp does not support batch exporting multiple clips at once, you must export them one by one using a quick deletion and undo workaround.
This method involves temporarily isolating one clip on your timeline, exporting it, and then using the undo function to restore the rest of your clips. It is the fastest way to export separate files from a single project.
Select all the clips on your timeline that you do not want to export right now and delete them, leaving only the first 10-minute segment.
Click the 'Export' button in the top right corner of the Clipchamp interface, choose your desired video quality, and wait for the clip to finish rendering and downloading.
Once the export is fully complete, press Ctrl + Z (or Cmd + Z on Mac) to undo your previous deletion. This will restore all the other clips back to your timeline.
Delete the clips you have already exported along with any others you aren't exporting yet, leaving only the next 10-minute segment. Export it, undo the deletion, and repeat this process for every segment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Clipchamp have a batch export feature?
Currently, Clipchamp does not support batch exporting multiple clips or timelines simultaneously. You must export each video file one by one.
Can I copy a clip and paste it into a new project to export?
Yes, you can copy a specific clip from your current timeline, return to the Clipchamp dashboard, create a new project, paste the clip, and export it. However, using the undo method within the same project is generally faster.
Will I lose video quality by exporting segments separately?
No, as long as you select the same export resolution (such as 1080p) for each individual segment, the video quality will remain consistent with the original project.
